Macro-economical conditions for investments in natural rubber production are promising. Global demand and price levels for natural rubber are forecast to increase. The project is managed by a top national brokerage firm in cooperation with a technical operator with a profound agro-technical know-how, responsible for the operational and technical aspects of the project. A positive social impact is guaranteed as the rubber plantation will provide employment and income to local families in need for generations. Environmentally, natural rubber production beats the synthetic production, by showing a positive CO2 balance � therefore offering the possibility to issue emission certificates as an additional source of income.

The total investment volume is USD 16 mio., split into 100 shares. The expected average ROI of this long-term project is around 19 %, starting with returns after the 7th year. Business and investment plan exist, potential risks are identified and are being managed actively.

Acquisition of a hotel in the first weekend destination of Bogota

The region of Melgar is probably the first region where Bogotanians spend their weekends because it is a less than 2 hours driving distance and has an average temperatur of 26 degrees. A well garded hotel, built in 1970, area of 36.000 suqare meters, 74 rooms, 3 swimmingpools, gym, tennis court, restaurant, bar, in an exceptional surrounding can be acquired. Included in the price is a future project to build a little shopping center and food corner to increase the value of the place.

Minority participation in a well known Colombian IT company

This company manages IT and operational aspects of taxation and transportation systems in various Colombian provinces (departamentos). Therefore they use their own, in-house developed standard-software.
They have a track record of 14 years, 100 employees, 90 contracts with the public sector, showing a steady growth of 10 - 15 % over the last 5 years.
As two partners would like to leave the company, they are looking for an outside investor: 18 % of the shares @ value of approx. 1 Mio USD (valuation report).

Pre-study for Watershop project in Colombia

The Watershop concept offers people who do not have access to potable water an opportunity to get clean drinking water for an afordable price. Contaminated water will be filtered by a Trunz water treatment and desalination system. The compact, mobile systems are powered with integrated photovoltaics or wind generators. In so-called 'Water Shops' people can buy their purified drinking water for a little amount of money. This revenue will be partly used to payback the initial funding.

In order to implement the Watershop concept funding is needed to do a pre-study which contains two basic steps:

a) Market study:

Identify and qualify communities in Colombia with drinking water problems,
Evaluate the economical, social and environmental impacts of a watershop for such communities,
Identify and integrate the relevant stakeholder (local authorities, funding partner, franchise partner),
Setup structures for the project and contigency process.

b) Setup a pilot project in an appropriate community.

A funding of USD 30.000 is needed to do the research (phase a) and an additional USD 70.000 for the pilot project (phase b). The funding for the pilot will be amortised. This investment project approaches specifically non-profit organisations (fundations, philantrophic investors, governmental institutions).

The Watershop concept is already successfully implemented in other countries and will be actively supported by nelcons.
